miso hungry

I find it kind of ironic and somewhat disturbing that the aftermath of last night’s Japanese dinner (Shabu Shabu) looks similar to my current Japanese snack (dark miso soup).I sincerely hope that it’s just a coincidence and that the Japanese are not master food recyclists. But still with miso you could never tell. It’s so salty that they could basically be putting whatever they want in there, then adding enough salt to mask the flavor… I could elaborate further into my theories on the origins of miso paste, but I think I’ll stop here for now. I wouldn’t want to gross out the few people that still actually read this blog…
